“A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than you love yourself.” – Josh Billings
No matter how I am as a person or how thriving I am, my dog always looks at me with Everlasting Love and Affection. The look he has on his face makes my day better and brighter.
I may be annoyed with the world or don’t want to talk to anymore, the face which I cannot deny showering my love is OM’s (My Dog). Om is my best friend with fur and tail.
He is a 6 years- old Indian Pomeranian, also known as Spitz. He is just like me – Rulebreaker, Playful and Confident. He makes a lot of a mess, barks and pees everywhere and at the same time, gets scared of the thunder and firecrackers. He is really cuddly and leaves you with a lot of fur and saliva.
So, How I take care of OM?
The most important thing to know is that he is my son, he can do no wrong. I ignore his drawbacks and love his qualities.
- I brush his hair daily
- I cannot brush his teeth daily. So, I give him a bone to work on
- I weekly shower him
- I keep his seating place clean and his utensils cleaner
- I feed him the Carnivorous food he requires – Meat and Egg.
- I take him on a walk like four to five times a day.
- I play with him as he needs to release his energy called Zoomies.
- I make sure he is having good dog hours sleep.
- I keep checking on him to see if he needs anything.
- I make sure he is vaccinated and groomed.
- I keep checking for fleas as he a friendly dog and likes to mingle with stray dogs.
I keep track of the following things:
- I clean up as fast I can, whenever he pees or shits.
- He has a lot of hair, so, I keep cleaning them.
- He barks a lot, so, I try to calm him
- Since he is a house dog, he pisses off the stray dogs a lot. So, a leash on him always whenever we go out.
- He is scared of thunder and firecrackers, so I keep him calm and stay by his side till he is feeling well.
Do not forget to play with your dog a lot, so he can have a good sleep schedule. Dogs live for few things only:
- Food
- Playing/Love
- Sleep
- Walking/Barking (Doing their Business)
Their life is short but meaningful to the people they love. Getting the love of a dog is easy but reciprocating is difficult. The things I have learned from OM:
- Sense of Responsibility
- JUST DO IT Attitude
- Loving Unconditionally
- You will do anything for the people you Love
- You don’t need words to express yourself
- Touch and Attention of your loved ones are all you need to be happy
- Silence and Sleep are golden.
